Code of Conduct

All attendees, speakers, sponsors and volunteers at our conference are required to agree with the following code of conduct. Organisers will enforce this code throughout the event. We are expecting cooperation from all participants to help ensuring a safe environment for everybody.

This is a retreat for Community Leaders. We expect you to act like it.

The SAFe Leadership Retreat is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion.

We do not tolerate harassment of Retreat participants in any form.

Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any conference venue, including talks and Open Space discussions. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organisers.

Why is this necessary?

Frankly, we wish it weren’t. And given the calibre of the people attending the Retreat, we don’t expect problems.

But it’s an endemic issue in our industry, and providing a high trust space is so critical to our purpose, that we couldn’t ignore it.

This anti-harassment policy is based on the example policy from the Geek Feminism wiki, created by the Ada Initiative and other volunteers.
